THE LATEST:
July 2010
I hope you are all having a wonderful summer and are enjoying the
outdoors as much as possible!! I love the heat-
the hotter the better…
Lots has been going on, so here on some updates:
-I have become a regular on two show’s on the Fox Business
Network-“Bulls & Bears” and “Cavuto”. They seem to enjoy my comedic
take on current events, specifically the economy. God definitely has a
sense of humor, I spent years trying to leave the Capital Markets only
to talk about it now on TV. I am on a couple times a week which has
been great fun, the people there are so wonderful, please check it out
when you get a chance.
-I love radio so I am making that desire somewhat of a reality with my
good friend Jim Mendrinos. We started a weekly internet radio show
back in February called “Right Now with Jim Mendrinos & Ellen Karis”
on From the Right Radio, you can listen to it live streaming at: www.frtradio.com.
We talk about politics, pop culture, current events and anything else
that comes up in our conversation flow. We have gotten quite a
following, although I think I have a too much of an admirer in Montana
if you know what I mean. We are on every Thursday from
7:00pm-8:00pmEST which is then replayed on Friday from
8:00am-9:00amEST.
-I continue to be on Fox News web show “The Strategy Room”, as a
recurring panelist. We discuss current events and read emails from
viewers throughout the show and respond. I have met seen and met some
amazing people but I am not going to lie, Rick Springfield was my
favorite!
-The first half of 2010 was filled with lots of Greek Shows to
travel to Cleveland, Oakland, Upper Darby, Chicago as well as the NYC
area. I am so grateful for the following and get enormous satisfaction
when I hear “that was so funny what you said about getting married…”
.Thank you fellow Hellenians’, I am glad we can all relate.
-I periodically write for a great website called Big Hollywood. If
you care to check out some of my opinions on pop culture please go to:
bighollywood.breitbart.com/author/ekaris
-As I delve into the political humor world, you never know how
someone will react until you are in the middle of a joke and see their
face however, as a comic you expect this and deal with it or you
should begin to ponder about getting a job as a Curator at an Art
Museum. On May 6th, I was the Comedic entertainment at the Staten
Island Lincoln Day Dinner and lets just say one of my jokes hit home
for a particular former politician, who I really do wish the best
because I liked his politics. In full disclaimer, I had gotten
clearance on the joke because I would never intentionally diss anyone,
that’s not my thing, so here you go, it even made the New York Post:

-In March I flew to LA to become part of a pilot called “Right to
Laugh” which will air on a new network called “Right Network”. It will
be part of one of Comcast’s on demand channels. Information can be
found at:
rightnetwork.com. I will keep you posted as to the air date.
-On September 11, 2010 I will be Emceeing a wonderful 5K walk
fundraising event for Ovarian Cancer called T.E.A.L-Tell Every Amazing
Woman. They are looking for volunteers and sponsors as well as
participants, to get more information go to:

So in between oil spills, budget deficits and reality shows about
people from New Jersey, enjoy the summer and eat that hot dog, go to
that ballgame and get some sun—it goes by fast!
XOXO
Ellen

Enjoy,
