The summer is going faster than Snooki goes through Spray Tan..Lots of exciting events have and continue to happen, it does takes alot of hard work, perseverance and praying to be in show business! But here is an update:

-On Monday, August 22nd, I am headling a one night only show at the Hilton Head Comedy Club, in HIlton Head, South Carolina. The show is being hosted by the Holy Resurrection Church of Bluffton, South Carolina. I will be performing my Greek and American Act, the evening will be dedicated as well as the proceeds going to the Re-Building of the St. Nicholas, one of my passionate causes! See flyer below.

I have the privilege of Emceeing for the 3rd year in the row, the Tell Every Amazing Lady (T.E.A.L) walk for Ovarian Cancer in Prospect Park, Brooklyn It will be held on September 10, 2011 and will be in honor of its co-founder Louisa McGregor who bravely lost her battle with Ovarian Cancer this past March. Her wonderful sister and co-founder Pamela Esposito-Amery, with their amazing group of friends and volunteers, will carry on Louisa’s wishes to promote to raise awareness and increase their fundraising efforts, which have raised $200,000 from the two walks and other smaller events. -I am in the final editing stages of my new Greek DVD which should be released in September (God Willing!). The show was taped at the Greek Taverna in Glen Rock New Jersey. In addition to my stand-up, I have included a couple of very hilarious skits such as  “The Greek Housewives of Astoria” and “Cafe with Yiayia”. Greeks and Non-Greeks alike will really enjoy it, stay tuned!

-September 15th through September 18th I will be attending the National Hellenic Society”s Annual Conference held at The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona. It is a spectacular resort and a wonderful event of networking with some of the most successful Hellenians involved in Business, Entertainment and Medicine. I am so excited to have been asked to provide the Stand-Up Comedy which will be at two of the schedule events. I will also be on the entertainment panel with John Aniston, Michael Constantine and Kalomira the Singer. I am beyond excited and I will be paying golf on one of the top courses in the country. -Our radio show “Right Now with Jim Mendrinos & Ellen Karis” is going strong. We cover politics, entertainment, sport, pop culture and share our experiences as stand-up comedians. We are live streaming at http://www.ftrradio.com every Thursday 7:00pm-8:00pm EST and re-played Friday 8:00am-9:00am EST. Jim and I are a great team, we are sort of the Regis and Kelly of Blog Radio. Jim of course is a much younger version of Regis, just to be clear. We will be making podcasts of the show soon, I will certainly keep you posted on that one!

-My Book “Rants of a Greek Goddess-The Greek Drama of Modern Times” is coming along, I hope to make alot of headway in the in the next four weeks as I will be by the ocean which always inspires me to be calm and focus. I know that sounds so zen but it works and doesn’t toxify your liver-yes that’s my Public Service Announcement.
